At the age of 17, Polgar crossed the 2600 ELO points mark. Ten years later, she broke through the 2700 ELO points mark, becoming the first woman in the world. In doing so, she was promoted to the elite group of ‘super champions’.
She was the only woman to enter the competition for the chess world championship in 2005. In her prolific career, she has won on the chessboard against, among others, Boris Spassky, Garri Kasparov or the current world’s best chess player, Magnus Carlsen.
